Hartmann grew volumes and expanded production capacity in 2018, and we improved our operational performance by stepping up sales efforts and implementing efficiency-improving measures. In the face of higher energy costs and significant currency headwinds, Hartmann delivered a profit margin of 10.2%.

While Hartmann grew packaging sales across its markets in the third quarter, compared with the year-earlier period, earnings were impacted by significantly higher energy costs and a claim from the Danish Energy Agency for repayment of a public grant. It is with great sorrow that Hartmann's management and employees have received news of Ulrik Kolding Hartvig's premature passing, and our thoughts and compassion is with the family in this time of grief.

Based on management's assessment of the expected developments in the remainder of 2017, Hartmann adjusts guidance for the financial year. Hartmann now expects revenue around DKK 2.2 billion and a profit margin around 11% as well as a return on invested capital around 16% against previously disclosed expectations of revenue of DKK 2.2-2.3 billion and a profit margin of 11-12.5% as well as a return on invested capital around 18%.

Hartmann's production, deliveries and financial guidance are unaffected by the fire damage to the group's factory in Denmark on 10 May 2017, see company announcement 5/2017 distributed on that date.

Due to efficient fire extinguishing efforts, the majority of the factory's production was swiftly resumed, and the affected production capacity is expected to resume operations shortly. Hartmann's shipments to customers are thus not affected by the incident, which has not entailed personal injury.

Fire damage to Hartmann's factory in Denmark

On 10 May, a fire erupted at a section of Hartmann's factory in Denmark. The fire has been extinguished, and fire fighters have initiated mopping-up procedures. The fire has not entailed serious personal injuries.

Hartmann assesses the extent of the damages on the section of the factory in Denmark and will inform about potential operational and financial consequences as soon as possible. Hartmann has taken out an all risk insurance policy covering fire damage and consequential loss, cf. the sect (...)

Hartmann establishes production in the US

Hartmann invests at the level of USD 30 million in setting up a factory in the US Midwest with a view to continuing the positive sales development in North America. The factory is expected to contribute to Hartmann's results from 2017.

Hartmann closes factory in Germany and transfers production

Following negotiations with employee representatives, Hartmann closes its factory in Germany and transfers volumes to other European factories where capacity is currently being expanded. The initiative will strengthen competitiveness and profitability in an increasingly competitive European market. Guidance for 2015 is maintained.

Hartmann enhances efficiency in Europe and expands in South America

Hartmann's revenue and operating profit continued to grow in Q3 2015, driven by a positive trend in the Americas, while the European business was affected by increasing price competition on several central European markets. The efficiency improvement measures launched in Europe are progressing according to plan, and production capacity in South America is being expanded as planned with the construction of two factories. We maintain our full-year guidance for 2015.

Hartmann appeals decision by the Secretariat of the Danish Energy Regulatory Authority on pricing of district heating to T�nder Fjernvarmeselskab

The Secretariat of the Danish Energy Regulatory Authority ("The Secretariat") has passed a decision in the pending case with T�nder Fjernvarmeselskab as described in company announcement no. 13/2014 of 10 December 2014. The decision is based on the Secretariat's previously passed advisory opinion.

Hartmann saw continued progress in Q2 and strengthens competitiveness

Hartmann lifted its profit margin in the second quarter of the year and continued to see progress on the American markets, while the European business was marked by intensifying price competition. We implemented a number of efficiency improvement measures in Europe and propose closing down our German factory to further strengthen our competitiveness and profitability by transferring its volume to other factories which are currently being expanded. We maintain our full-year guidance for 2015.

Revenue and operating profit increased in Q1 2015 as a result of the addition of the South American activities and progress in Americas. Hartmann delivered on the expectations for 2014, lifting both revenue and profit margin. The development was driven by increased sales of retail packaging across Hartmann's markets and by a positive effect of the capacity expansion in North America. The Group reported a strong performance for Q3 2009 with significant profit growth. The performance for the nine months ended 30 September 2009 was in line with expectations. Hartmann retains its outlook for 2009 and its '10 in 10' goal.

Overall, the Group performed as expected. The sales volume of Egg Packaging Europe was in line with expectations, but revenue remained affected by developments in exchange rates. Automation and efficiency improvement measures continued to have a positive impact on Hartmann's core business. Egg Packaging North America continued to grow, while Industrial Packaging and Hartmann Technology experienced setbacks. Profit for the period improved significantly.

Structural and organisational change in Industrial Packaging

Management of Br�drene Hartmann A/S has decided to combine the industrial packaging activities with the rest of the organisation in order to exploit the resulting synergies. As a direct consequence of the combination, Anders Christiansen, Director of Industrial Packaging, will leave his position as of 31 October 2009.

Q1 2009: Performance in line with expectations

Group performance was in line with expectations. The underlying operations of Egg Packaging Europe continued to improve. However, the division was, as expected, strongly affected by unfavourable fluctuations in several exchange rates. At a meeting today, the Board of Directors and the Executive Board of Br�drene Hartmann A/S approved the Group's Annual Report 2006. The Group posted DKK 1,475 million in revenue in 2006 and an operating profit of DKK 62 million, which is in keeping with the latest announcement. However, adjusted for non-recurring items, including in particular the sale of the Group's head office, the amount in operating profit came to DKK 17 million, and this is not satisfactory. Operations were adversely affected by production difficulties and replacements in Group Management.
