Interim report for H1 2010

Revenue increased in the first six months of 2010, primarily due to developments in exchange rates. The '10 in 10' initiatives had the anticipated effect, volumes grew, and the product and price mix improved. The period was adversely affected by a slowdown in industrial packaging activities, increasing raw material prices and additional costs. The resolution proposed by the Board of Directors to elect Agnete Raaschou-Nielsen as a new board member was adopted.

In the period leading up to the general meeting, Agnete Raaschou-Nielsen was attached to the Board of Directors in an advisory capacity. Provided that Agnete Raaschou-Nielsen was elected as a new board member by the shareholders, the Board of Directors would elect her new chairman of the Board at its first meeting to be held immediately after the general meeting.

The ongoing preparation of Hartmann's interim report for H1 2010 has given rise to a downgrade of the company's EBIT margin forecast for 2010 to approximately 7% against the previous forecast of approximately 10% (actual 2009: 5.7%). The downgrade is due, among other factors, to higher raw materials prices in H1 2010 and even sharper increases in raw materials prices in the first part of H2 2010. Hartmann performed well in Q1 2010 with an EBIT margin of 9.8% (2009: 3.2%). As expected, the positive trend witnessed in the latest quarters thus continued in 2010, as the '10 in 10' initiatives implemented took full effect. Hartmann maintains its full-year forecast for 2010.

Peter Arndrup Poulsen has announced his decision to resign from the position as CEO of Br�drene Hartmann A/S to take up the position as CEO of Tvilum-Scanbirk in F�rvang, north of Silkeborg, Denmark.

Peter Arndrup Poulsen will join Tvilum-Scanbirk on 1 December 2010 and will continue with Br�drene Hartmann in his present function until a replacement has been found and has joined the company. He will, however, leave on 30 November 2010 at the latest.

Erik H�jsholt, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Br�drene Hartmann A/S since 2007, passed away on 18 May 2010 following a short period of illness and hospitalisation.

Mr H�jsholt headed Hartmann's successful turnaround process, which was completed in late 2008.

At a meeting today, the Board of Directors and the Executive Board of Br�drene Hartmann A/S approved the Group's Annual Report 2006. The Group posted DKK 1,475 million in revenue in 2006 and an operating profit of DKK 62 million, which is in keeping with the latest announcement. However, adjusted for non-recurring items, including in particular the sale of the Group's head office, the amount in operating profit came to DKK 17 million, and this is not satisfactory. Operations were adversely affected by production difficulties and replacements in Group Management.
