Apoteket is signing a two-year general agreement with Cell Network Sweden and five other consulting firms for the supply of IT services to a value of SEK 200 million annually.
The general agreement, which covers consulting services within business analysis and strategy, project management, systems development, systems administration, technology, customer support and operations, runs until December 6, 2003, with the possibility to extend the period of validity by one year.

The agreement aims to limit the number of suppliers and to achieve closer collaboration with selected partners.

"Apoteket previously used many suppliers of IT services, but following the public procurement process, the number of suppliers will be reduced drastically. Instead, Apoteket will become a major customer to a small number of suppliers...," Apoteket announced in a press release.

The agreement strengthens Cell Network's position as a supplier of expert consulting services and solutions for the pharmaceuticals sector. Cell Network already collaborates with customers such as AstraZeneca and Pharmacia.
