Billion NOK agreement signed by Gjensidige NOR Sparebank and EDB Business Partner

  • Oslo (22.01.2001) Gjensidige NOR Sparebank (known as Union Bank of Norway internationally) and the banks with which it co-operates have today entered into an agreement with EDB Business Partner for the purchase of software and computer operating services for their banking activities. Expected total business volume is NOK 2 billion over a five-year period, and the signed agreement is considered so far to be the largest within the Norwegian bank market.

    EDB Fellesdata currently provides banking systems for Gjensidige NOR Sparebank and the banks with which it co-operates, whilst EDB Teamco provides operating services for the banking systems and networks of these banks, in addition to providing dialog services and data printing.

    The banks making up the co-operation with Gjensidige NOR Sparebank are Sparebanken Hedmark, Sparebanken Møre, Sparebanken Sogn og Fjordane, Sparebanken Sør, Sparebanken Rana and Sandnes Sparebank.

    Biggest contract ever
    This is the largest single contract EDB Business Partner has so far signed in the banking and finance sector.
