(Oslo 04.07.02) Sparebank 1 has signed a contract with EDB Business Partner's wholly owned subsidiary EDB Fellesdata for the development and delivery of software for messaging and electronic archiving as well as for retail banking credit processing. The contract has a total value of around NOK 60 million. 

 

This new order forms part of the existing agreement signed by Sparebank 1 Gruppen AS and EDB Business Partner in December 2001 to collaborate on the development of new banking systems. The agreement runs for three years with a minimum overall value of NOK 100 million. This agreement to co-operate on the development of new banking systems is intended to realise Sparebank 1's multi-channel strategy, and will ensure that the banks making up the Sparebank 1 group can deliver services to satisfy customer preferences by offering a choice of banking channels.

 

The system for multi-channel messaging, which includes electronic archiving, will improve the efficiency of the banks' communication with their customers by offering choice on the frequency and delivery channel for individual customer dialogue. The new credit processing system for retail banking will deliver a system for credit approval based on highly efficient work processes including the use of credit scoring.

 

These projects will create internet banking systems for message distribution and credit processing for Sparebank 1 that are at the cutting edge of development in the Nordic countries.
