Telenor signs NOK billion contract with EDB Business Partner

Telenor ASA has today signed an agreement with EDB Business Partner ASA for the supply of centralised IT operating services. The contract is expected to involve business volumes of NOK 1.8 billion from Q2 2003 to 31.12.2006, and is one of the largest IT outsourcing contracts ever signed in Norway. The contract represents a 3-year extension of an existing agreement, and includes options for further extensions.

The services to be provided encompass the centralised operation of Telenor's most important invoicing, order and support systems. These systems form part of the company's mission-critical value chain, and involve some of the most complex IT solutions in Norway.

"We have a long-standing business relationship with EDB for IT operations, and in our experience EDB is one of the leading suppliers of efficient and reliable operating services", comments Knut-Eirik Storsul, CIO, Telenor Group.

The agreement signed represents a renewal of EDB Business Partner's existing arrangements to supply IT operating services to Telenor. These operating services are delivered by EDB Teamco.

"Telenor is an advanced and demanding user of IT, and is an important partner for us in the further development of our operating solutions. The new contract represents a further step forward in making operating services more efficient, and this will benefit both parties. The experience we will gain from this collaboration and its results will make a major contribution to our competitiveness in the Nordic IT operating services market", comments John-Arne Haugerud, Executive Vice President, IT-Operating Services, EDB Business Partner.
