EDB Business Partner ASA: Banking systems for SalusAnsvar Bank of Sweden

(Oslo 11.06.2003) The Swedish SalusAnsvar Bank has signed a contract with EDB Business Partner for the purchase of software, IT Operating services and consultancy services for its banking activities. The contract runs for 5 years and has a value of NOK 14 million. This agreement will provide SalusAnvar Bank with a complete banking systems solution. SalusAnsvar Bank is a part of the stock stock exchange listed Swedish financial group SalusAnsvar.

"Our new system from EDB Business Partner will give us an up-to-date and powerful banking system, and at a relatively lower cost. Choosing an ASP solution opens the opportunity to share costs with other banks in the future, and this is very valuable for us", explains Harald Nihlén, Managing Director of SalusAnsvar Bank.

"This contract represents EDB Business Partner's first ASP delivery (package of banking systems and operational services) to the Swedish market. This business model has been very successful in the Norwegian market for many years. The delivery of our "banking systems to rent" concept in the Swedish market represents a significant breakthrough for the group's focus on Sweden. We are seeing strong and growing interest for this type of supply and services package among smaller and medium-sized Swedish banks", comments Knut Holmen, Executive Vice President, EDB Business Partner.

The banking systems solution that SalusAnsvar Bank will use is based in part on the activebank2 software from Financial Objects plc. This software, which is already used by ICA Banken in Sweden, meets the needs of smaller banks in a cost-efficient manner.

EDB Business Partner's Swedish subsidiary EDB Infovention will be responsible for data conversion and software customisation for the bank's new systems as well as providing the consultancy services. Operating services will be provided by the group's Swedish subsidiary EDB Unigrid.
