| New banking systems for Sparebanken Vest |
|
(Oslo 24.06.2003) Sparebanken Vest has signed a contract with EDB Business Partner to purchase solutions for internet banking, corporate lending and credit card administration together with operating services for these systems. The contract is worth around NOK 45 million.
Under the terms of the agreement Sparebanken Vest and EDB Fellesdata will work together on product development. This will involve the development of a new internet banking system for retail customers, including e-dialogue between the bank and its customers (internet mail box services), as well as the development of a new system for the bank's lending processes. The lending system will support the bank's working process for granting new commercial loans. In addition the bank has agreed to purchase EDB Fellesdata's standard system for credit card administration. Operating and network services will be provided by EDB Teamco.
"This agreement is a natural step in the development and expansion of our relationship with EDB Business Partner, and will ensure that Sparebanken Vest continues to have efficient and functional IT solutions in future years", comments Jørn Lekve, Director of Corporate Communications, Sparebanken Vest.
"Our strategy for systems development involves developing new solutions based on re-usable components that can be customised to meet specific customer requirements and that can be used across different self-service and bank-delivered channels. The new systems for internet banking and lending that we have agreed to develop in partnership with Sparebanken Vest will add a new generation of solutions to our existing product portfolio for these areas", explains Ole Urdahl, Executive Vice President, EDB Bank & Finance.
