The background for the contract is Grieg Group's wish to reduce the risk exposure and costs associated with its IT operations, and to ensure access to IT activities that offer greater implementation capability and reliability as well as creating added value for all the companies in the group.

Operating services will be provided by EDB Teamco AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of EDB Business Partner. EDB Teamco is one of the largest suppliers of distributed IT operating services in Norway. The company currently provides operating services for almost 25,000 PCs for major businesses such as Møllergruppen, DnB, Terra-Gruppen, a number of savings banks and now Grieg Group.
