Tom Scharning joins EDB from the consulting firm daVinci Consulting, where he has been a partner and head of sales and marketing. DaVinci Consulting focuses on providing business and technology advice for industrial companies, the public sector and the ICT sector.

 

Scharning's previous experience includes working as managing director of SPCS-Gruppen (PC-Systemer Norge ASA) which is now part of Visma ASA, as country manager for Digital Equipment and as head of marketing at NetCom GSM.

 

In his role as head of business development, Scharning will lead and develop EDB's sales and marketing activities across all the current business areas, and this will include responsibility for partner relationships at the group level. "We intend to strengthen our position in the market by presenting a more unified profile and making better use of our resources across the current business areas. Tom Scharning will play a key role in this task. Making business development a separate area of responsibility at the executive management level serves to underline our ambitions for future growth", explains CEO Endre Rangnes.
