EDB wins Swedish mediation contract

(Oslo, 26. January 2004) Telenor AB in Sweden has selected EDB to deliver the operator's new mediation platform. The new mediation platform will provide a more efficient collection and processing of call records collected from Telenor AB's networks.

Telenor AB is amongst the largest providers of data, fixed line and mobile communications services in the Swedish corporate market. The operator has chosen EDB's mediation platform - Sterling Mediation - to collect and process traffic information from its networks. The solution will be implemented in collaboration with the systems integrator AMS in the spring of 2004.

Sterling Mediation collects and processes information from different networks and network elements and sends this information to billing systems and other business critical systems. The solution thus helps secure the operator's revenue streams and provides valuable information on how to optimize network use. Sterling Mediation provides the operator with one fully convergent solution for collection and analysis of traffic data across any type of service and network

- After evaluating products from a number of vendors, we have chosen Sterling Mediation from EDB as our mediation platform. Sterling Mediation distinguished itself as a cost-effective solution with the functionality and flexibility we need to fulfill both current and future needs, says Krister Tånneryd, Director of Delivery & Operations, Telenor AB.

- We are delighted to offer Sterling Mediation to Telenor AB. This contract strengthens our position as a leading provider of mediation platforms globally, says Asbjørn Eide, Executive Vice President Telecom, EDB.
