(Oslo, 13 February 2004) Statoil has signed a contract with EDB Business Partner for the operation of its mainframe-based customer systems for retail and energy sales in Scandinavia. The agreement runs for two years from 1 January 2004, and represents business volume of around NOK 48 million. The contract also includes an option to renew for two further years. The Statoil contract is a renewal of an existing agreement and also gives EDB responsibility for operating the related applications portfolio. The operation of Statoil's customer system for retail and energy sales is made up of three separate environments for Norway, Sweden and Denmark respectively. The contract covers day-to-day operations tasks, monitoring, fault management and support as well as applications operation. EDB also provides communications solutions to link into Statoil's own network.
"We are satisfied with EDB's delivery, quality and pricing. This together with their flexible approach to our collaboration has led us to renew our contract with EDB", comments Erik Dahl, Sector Manager at Statoil IT.
