Asbjørn Eide leaves EDB

Asbjørn Eide, the Executive Vice President of EDB Business Partner responsible for the Telecommunications business area, has decided to leave EDB after six years in his current position. "Following the successful sale of a large part of our activities to Accenture, it seems to me natural that I should now hand over responsibility for the business area to someone new", explains Asbjørn Eide. Mr Eide resigned from his current position and left EDB's employment with effect from 30 April.

From the same date, EDB has appointed Bjørn Bakke as acting Executive Price President responsible for the task of finding long-term strategic alternatives for the remaining activities of EDB Telecommunications. Mr Bakke runs his own consultancy business, and is temporarily seconded to EDB.

"Asbjørn Eide can look back on a splendid period as the head of EDB's telecommunications business. His decision to leave the group is that of a distinguished manager seeking new alternatives, and I wish him well in his future career", comments Endre Rangnes, CEO of EDB.
