Spareskillingsbanken signs 6-year contract with EDB

(Oslo, 16 December 2004) Spareskillingsbanken has signed an agreement with EDB to purchase product solutions and IT operating services for the bank's activities. The new contract runs for six years to the end of 2010, and represents total business volume of around NOK 40 million.

Spareskillingsbanken will continue to use EDB for its banking solutions and IT operating services for a further six years. The contract covers a complete portfolio of solutions and related IT operating services for the bank's core banking systems, payment services, credit and debit cards and account management.

In addition, Spareskillingsbanken is to expand its relationship with EDB in the self-service area. The bank has agreed to buy new solutions for internet banking with internet-based customer dialogue features and a new solution for distributing information to customers.

"The contract with EDB gives us continuing access to a broad range of commercial and IT expertise and delivers up-to-date solutions to support our development as an independent local savings bank. EDB has been the bank's IT supplier for many years, and we find it very natural for Spareskillings-banken to renew its long-term customer relationship with EDB", explains Sigmund Andersen, Managing Director of Spareskillingsbanken.

"This agreement demonstrates that EDB's standard solutions portfolio meets the needs of local savings banks for the functionality and economies of scale that are essential for cost-effective banking production", adds Ole Urdahl, Executive Vice President, Bank & Finance at EDB.
