| A leading European telecom operator orders from EDB |
|
(Oslo 6 January 2005) A leading European telecommunications operator has signed a contract with EDB to purchase EDB's inventory system for telecommunications operators, Incatel NIMS. The order, which is part of an extended program agreement, represents business volume of around NOK 15 million. The agreement is of strategic importance and confirms EDB' position as supplier to the telecommunications sector. Incatel NIMS provides an inventory of an operator's physical network and all the services offered, as well as identifying spare network capacity. Access to this kind of network and services inventory helps telecommunications operators to deliver current and new services to their customers quickly, reliably and cost efficiently. Incatel NIMS will help the operator to automate its deliveries to the market, including broadband services.
The telecommunications operator in question already uses Incatel NIMS for part of its network. By implementing new modules of Incatel NIMS, the operator will be able to deliver current and new products to its market more easily and efficiently. This contract represents part of a major upgrading the operator is carrying out in the Inventory area, and represents the first phase of this project.
The business volume of around NOK 15 million this contract represents will be booked in 2005.
