Mesta renews its IT operations contract with EDB

(Oslo, 21 February 2005) Mesta AS has entered into a new agreement for EDB Business Partner to operate the company's IT systems for another four years. EDB will be responsible for Mesta's IT operations, monitoring, disaster recovery, network and IP telephony. The new agreement runs until 1 January 2009, and represents total business volume of NOK 134 million. Mesta has also entered into a framework agreement with EDB for purchases of consulting services and equipment.

EDB and Mesta will work together throughout the contract period on making Mesta's operating platform more effective to ensure an optimal and competitive solution. The parties will focus on adapting the solution to support Mesta's business processes in the best possible way. This will be achieved through a process of continuous consolidation and the use of innovative solutions for Mesta's IT production.

"We have chosen to continue our collaboration with EDB for another four years. This will give both companies predictable terms and stability for continues improvement of profitability, both in short and longer term. One main supplier of IKT infrastructure gives us more efficient administration, in this way we can concentrate on our own core business", says Kristian E. Just, CFO, in Mesta.

"This contract is a result of the good collaboration we have enjoyed since Mesta became a customer in 2002. The agreement strengthens EDB's position in the distribution and industry sector, where Mesta is one of our largest customers. This is a sector with expected growth, and represents an important area of focus for EDB", explains John-Arne Haugerud, Executive Vice President IT Operations at EDB.
