SEB orders Internet banking solution from EDB

(Oslo, 7 April 2005) SEB has entered into an agreement with EDB for a new Internet banking solution. The contract provides for EDB to develop a new Internet banking solution in collaboration with SEB, which will replace a solution used at present by a part of SEB's activities activities outside Sweden. SEB will subsequently consider whether to use the new solution for Internet banking throughout the SEB group. The agreement represents a business volume of almost NOK 13 million.

The new Internet banking solution will be developed by EDB in collaboration with SEB's IT department. EDB will rationalise the development task by adapting existing solutions and components and customising these to meet SEB's requirements. Deliverance is planned to November/December 2005.This will be the first time that EDB's concept for re-using existing components has been applied in the Swedish market.

"This approach offers significant advantages for SEB in the form of a shorter development period and lower development costs. We have chosen EDB as our partner for this project on the basis of the company's concept of re-usable components and its expertise in this area", explains Conny Hjalmarsson, Managing Director of SEB IT.

"We welcome the opportunity to work with SEB on this new Internet banking solution. EDB's banking solutions in this area will help to rationalise the European banking market, and we are delighted that SEB has chosen EDB as its partner in this important area", comments Ole Urdahl, EVP - Solutions at EDB.
