EDB increases its focus on profitable growth

(Oslo 26 April 2005) Executive Vice President for IT Operations in EDB Business Partner ASA, John-Arne Haugerud, will on 1 May 2005 take up positions as Executive VP and member of the group management team with responsibility for business development, and planning and implementation of larger outsourcing-contracts. Executive Vice President for Solutions, Ole Urdahl, will from the same date enter the position as Executive VP for IT Operations.

Over the last year EDB has made three major strategic acquisitions amounting to a yearly increase in revenues of more than NOK 900 million. The integration of the acquired business units will be completed during the second quarter of 2005. From 1 January the group has also put into effect a major organisational change.

- The strategic moves made in 2004 are almost carried out. The group now has achieved a market position and competitiveness in the Nordic market for IT Operations which opens very good opportunities for further profitable growth. I am very pleased that John-Arne Haugerud now will apply all his time and energy to the task of exploiting this position to the best for our group, says CEO Endre Rangnes.

Ole Urdahl has previously held the position as assisting VP for IT Operations, and held the position as VP IT Operations when Mr. Haugerud was Acting CEO for EDB in 2003.

Eva Trasti will be temporarily appointed Executive VP for Solutions. She has until now been part of the management team in the business area Solutions, as responsible for payment-systems, card issuer services and security solutions. A process to find a permanent replacement for Mr Haugerud has been initiated.
