Klaveness expands and extends collaboration with EDB

(Oslo, 15th July 2005) The shipping company Torvald Klaveness Group has signed a new agreement with EDB to extend its existing collaboration and add further services. The new contract runs for five years from October 2005. Total business volume is NOK 37 million.

EDB currently operates the Klaveness Group's IT infrastructure. EDB will now take over ownership of all the group's servers and transfer operations to EDB's computer centre. This will improve operational quality and security, and allow Klaveness to benefit from EDB's economies of scale.

In addition to the centralised operation of infrastructure and servers, EDB will provide operating services for workstations used by all the Klaveness Group's offices and vessels as well as a range of on-site services and a 24-hour customer centre.

The Torvald Klaveness Group became a customer of EDB as part of the activities acquired from Capgemini. The existing contract would have expired in January 2007. The extension and expansion of the contract increases EDB's backlog with NOK 29 million.
