EDB reports further orders from public sector customers

(Oslo, 15 January 2007) A number of public sector bodies have signed new agreements with EDB. The City of Oslo, the City of Bergen and Helse Nord (the Northern Norway Regional Health Authority) are among the public sector entities that have decided on solutions from EDB. These contracts, together with other recent new contracts with public sector bodies, represent total contract value in excess of NOK 40 million.

"We are seeing strong interest in EDB's solutions from a number of areas in the public sector. These recent contracts represent a very good start to 2007, and confirm the competitiveness of the solutions we offer. EDB is very committed to the public sector, and it is very pleasing to see continuing confidence from customers in this area", comments Jan Erik Larsen, EVP - Public Sector at EDB.

The City of Bergen and Helse Nord have ordered EDB's personnel and payroll system, which is a fully integrated human resources and salary system with centralised operations and both centralised and local reporting. This system is currently used by a large number of municipal, county and health authorities throughout Norway. The two new contracts represent total contract value of around NOK 24 million.

City of Oslo to use Infobank
The City of Oslo has signed a contract for EDB's Infobank service, which delivers access to various official registers. The contract provides for around 2,000 users in the city authority to have online access to all the major public registers, and for the service to be integrated with the authority's other technical systems. The contract runs for three years, with an option to extend for a further two years, and represents estimated contract value of NOK 13.5 million over its life.

EDB's Infobank portal offers access to information from a number of public registers and private sector information databases. Customers can use this system to access information from the Norwegian population register, the land registry, the Brønnøysund registers and credit information databases. Infobank is designed for users in both the public and private sectors, regardless of their speciality.
