Finland's largest savings bank enters into a long-term agreement with EDB

(Oslo, 5 January 2007) Aktia Kort & Finans AB and EDB have signed a long-term agreement for EDB to supply card services to Aktia's operations in Finland. This agreement represents a breakthrough for EDB's card services in the Finnish market. The agreement runs for five years, with the opportunity of extension for a further five years.

EDB is to deliver a platform for card issuing for both the retail and corporate markets. The solution to be delivered will be a further development of EDB's solutions in this area that are currently used by a number of domestic and international banks. The service comprises a web-based solution for card administration and user support together with an interface to the international card networks, including Visa and MasterCard, as well as operating services. The services that Aktia will use are independent of geographic location, and do not need a local installation.

Breakthrough in Finland
"This is a strategically important agreement for EDB, and gives us a foothold in the Finnish card market. We look forward to working with Aktia to help ensure that the bank can offer its customers the best possible card services in the future", comments Eva Trasti, Acting EVP, Bank & Finance, at EDB.

"We have chosen EDB for card services because the company has strong international solutions that meet a large part of our requirements. In addition, EDB has demonstrated that the company has both professionalism and in-depth expertise in our areas, and this is a very important factor in our choice of supplier", explains Peter Böckelman, Managing Director of Aktia Kort & Finans AB.
