EDB reports renewed agreement by SJ and Linkon

(Oslo, 10 July 2007) SJ AB and Linkon AB have extended their agreement with EDB in respect of IT operating services. The agreement means that EDB will continue to supply application operations and communications systems to the two Swedish companies until 31 December 2008.

The number of people in Sweden choosing to travel by train is on the increase, and this intensifies the need for good IT solutions. In addition, sales of train tickets over the Internet give travellers access to rapid price changes and customer-targeted offers. SJ and Linkon's overall offer in respect of train travel and new loyalty programs makes it all the more important that the companies have high-quality integrated solutions.

We enjoy a good relationship with EDB, and service quality is moving in the right direction. We have therefore chosen to renew our current agreement for a further year", explains Anders Hedenros, Head of IT at SJ.
 
Linkon offers systems for sales and distribution of passenger travel arrangements by providing a shared and competition-neutral solution for the entire travel industry. The solution is available for all transport providers such as train operators, taxis, buses and ferries.
