|
Both the City of Trondheim and the City of Oslo have extended their contracts to purchase IT operating services from EDB by two years. The two agreements represent total contract value of NOK 250 million for the period of extension. Following these extensions, the City of Trondheim contract runs to 2011, while the contract the City of Oslo runs to the end of 2011. "I am extremely pleased that both Trondheim and Oslo have chosen to extend their contracts, and I see this as a vote of confidence in the service they currently receive from EDB. We will do our utmost to be a good partner for these authorities in the task of modernisation over the years to come", comments Jan Ivar Borgersen, EVP - Public Sector at EDB.
EDB supplies IT operating and development services for the City of Trondheim
EDB acts as a supplier of IT operating and development services for the City of Trondheim. EDB's responsibilities include operating services for the Trondheim authority's central and distributed computer and telephony systems. The contract also includes certain development projects to modernise the authority's administration. The agreement originally ran for three years, and has now been extended for an additional two years to 2011.
Trondheim is one of the leading municipalities in Norway for the use of IT, and this includes efficient digital interaction both internally across the authority and externally in its dialogue with citizens. The City of Trondheim sets demanding standards for EDB as its supplier, and strives to be seen as a leading example for the use of IT in the public sector.
