"Telenor Nordic is working on a strategic project to develop and implement a common IT-platform for Telenor's chain of wholly-owned retail stores in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. We have now given EDB responsibility for operating Telenor's Scandinavian IT-platform for the store chain", comments Oddbjørn Berentsen, who is responsible for Nordic Distribution at Telenor Nordic.

 

EDB's responsibilities will include setting up the central technical environment for the store chain, operating this environment and single-point-of-contact responsibility for other suppliers of applications, communications services and infrastructure for Telenor's Scandinavian retail stores.

The solution, known as Telenor Nordic Retail Solution, will be implemented for Telehuset AS, Sonofon Partner AS and Telenor Stores. EDB Business Partner Sverige AB has signed a 3-year agreement with Telenor Nordic, with an option for a further 2-year's extension.

 

The technical solution is based on the Microsoft Dynamics Navision ERP system and the Venturia Point-of-Sales system. EDB will also implement common integration architecture for service-oriented systems integration with the customer's external and internal business partners, and a common Data Warehouse to collate, analyse and report information. The solution is based on the system currently in use by Sonofon Partner AS.
