EDB chosen as Posten's IT partner in Sweden

(Oslo, 19 February, 2009) Posten has chosen EDB Business Partner as its long-term IT services supplier. The parties have today signed an IT operating services contract for Posten's business-critical systems. The agreement represents total contract value of around SEK 150 million, and runs to the end of 2012. For EDB, which is one of the leading Nordic suppliers of IT services, the contract represents a significant expansion of this customer relationship.

Contracts for Posten now extend to the major part of EDB's portfolio of services, ranging from IT operating services through to IT consulting, development and training.

"EDB's offer and its strength in the Nordic market were decisive factors in our decision to select the company as Posten's long-term IT partner. EDB's expertise will make an important contribution to the optimal development of Posten's business-critical IT environments for logistics and message management", explains Joss Delissen, CIO at Posten.

"EDB is delighted to work with such a dynamic company as Posten, where IT support for business-critical applications plays a crucial role in Posten's delivery of services to the public. I look forward to the opportunity for EDB to play a pro-active and long-term role in helping Posten achieve its objectives", says Endre Rangnes, CEO of EDB Business Partner.

Over recent years, EDB has carried out assignments for Posten in the areas of its cashier system, management reporting systems and payroll. EDB also has operational responsibility for Posten's Svensk Kassaservice with around 1,000 banking terminals. In addition, EDB entered into a framework agreement with Posten in 2008 for development and training.
