| EDB disposes of small units outside its core business |
|
(Oslo, 15 July 2009) EDB Business Partner ASA announces the sale of two small units in Sweden that lie outside the company's core business focus. EDB will receive SEK 26 million in total for the sale of these units. EDB has entered into an agreement to sell its training courses business in Sweden, which is carried out through the company Astrakan Strategisk Utbildning AB. Arranging training courses does not form part of EDB's core business, and the company has therefore reached agreement to sell its shares in Astrakan Strategisk Utbildning AB to a new owner with effect from mid August 2009. The business has 6 employees.
In addition, EDB has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) that anticipates the sale of Guide Market Solutions AB. This unit specialises in solutions related to sales and marketing, which is not an area that falls within EDB's core business focus. The business has 60 employees.
EDB will receive SEK 26 million in total for the sale of these units. These disposals represent a sharpening of EDB's business focus, and this will help to strengthen the future profitability of the Application Services business area.
