The Norwegian Tax Administration enters into NOK 120 million agreement with EDB

(Oslo, 6 September 2010) The Norwegian Tax Administration has entered into an agreement with EDB for mainframe operating services. The contract runs to 2017, and represents total contract value of NOK 120 million.

"This contract will give the Directorate of Taxes long-term, cost effective and stable operating services for its core systems. In addition, the contract paves the way for technological innovation in the mainframe environment. SITS is one of the largest IT environments in Norway, and is the Tax Administration's partner and supplier of IT and administrative services.

EDB has supplied services to the Tax Administration for many years in the areas of operating services, consulting and printing, as well as the distribution of information from the national population register. This new contract represents a renewal of EDB's responsibility for operating the Tax Administration's mainframe environment. The contract comes into effect on 15 October, and runs for seven years with total contract value over this period in the order of NOK 120 million.
