| Mobile telephony breakthrough for EDB ErgoGroup |
|
(Oslo, 9 January 2012) The Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs (Bufetat) has entered into a framework agreement for telephony with EDB ErgoGroup. The agreement, which represents total contract value of NOK 23.4 million over 4 years, gives EDB ErgoGroup 4,000 new mobile subscribers and is a breakthrough for the group's telephony solutions. "EDB ErgoGroup is focusing strongly on sales of integrated telephony solutions based on fixed line, mobile and IP solutions. The contract for Bufetat represents an important step in providing solutions based on mobile solutions for large organisations", comments Thorolf Thorstensen, Head of Global IT Operations at EDB ErgoGroup. The agreement covers telephony solutions for Bufetat's employees, with Bufetat represented by the Norwegian Directorate for Children, Youth and Family Affairs (Bufdir) as the overall body. Bufetat has five regional offices and operates approximately 300 locations of varying size throughout Norway. Bufetat has around 5,000 permanent employees and approximately 7,000 ICT users in total. The size of the locations varies from some 100 employees at the major locations down to just one or two employees at small locations. Bufetat has calculated that the new agreement will allow cost savings of approximately NOK 5 million annually, assuming no increase from current usage levels. The agreement runs for four years, so the total savings for Bufetat over the entire contract period will be NOK 20 million. Easy access to services for the organisation and its users
All services are produced on a net-centric basis. This means that there is no need for any equipment to be located at the customer's premises other than the mobile handsets used by employees. Bufetat will therefore have access to all the telephony services it needs without having to purchase and operate telephony equipment. The solutions provided are location-independent, so that they are available both at Bufetat's locations and elsewhere. In addition, the service will streamline Bufetat's administration and access to services by delivering the central switchboard, contact centre and ring groups/call queuing on a single platform with unified access. Mobilt Bedriftsnett supports integration with other communications-related solutions, such as Microsoft's co-ordinated communications platform Lync. This gives Bufetat the opportunity to use telephony services and other ICT solutions that an ordinary telephony supplier would not be able to offer. The solution selected by Bufetat will be one of the most advanced mobile telephony solutions ever delivered in Norway. For further information, please contact:
