Hamburg, 28 August 2002. The CWD Champagner & Wein Distributionsgesellschaft, Hamburg, has succeeded in taking over the exclusive distribution rights of four great premium French wine labels - Champagne Pol Roger, Paul Jaboulet Aîné (Rhône), Domaine Faiveley (Burgund) and Pascal Jolivet (Loire) - from August 2002. The strategy of Hawesko Holding AG of extending its product offer to include even more internationally-famous wines is being successfully carried out one step further. 

CWD is able to build up its competence in French fine wines with these premium labels. CWD currently serves about 6,000 Restaurants, caterers and speciality re-sellers. In fiscal year 2001 the company made Euro 11 million in sales. The French vintners gain a new distribution platform and a partner with some of the best expertise in Germany. The operating business of CWD is conducted by Mr. Frank Maas and Mr. Oliver Thieme.

Starting immediately the products of these fine châteaux are available from CWD. Their distribution will continue to be mainly to top restaurants. CWD will continue its marketing efforts to this group of customers as well as to the classic speciality re-sellers.

CWD is a subsidiary of Hawesko Holding AG, a leading seller of premium wines and champagnes. It operates in mail-order and e-commerce (especially with Hanseatisches Wein- und Sekt-Kontor), in specialist wine shops (with Jacques' Wein-Depot) and in wholesale (with Wein Wolf and CWD Champagner & Wein Distributionsgesellschaft). The Group achieved sales of over € 264 million in 2001 with these three business segments and has over 500 employees.
