Hamburg, 24 January 2008. Hawesko Holding AG (HAW GR, HAWG.DE, DE0006042708) announces that its subsidiary CWD Champagner- und Wein-Distributionsgesellschaft has received the rights to distribute the wines of Brancaia exclusively in Germany. The distribution partnership with this renowned Italian producer begins on 1 February 2008. Brancaia produces highly regarded top-level wines such as its Rosso di Toscana "Il Blu" IGT and its excellent Brancaia "Chianti Classico" DOCG, among others. With this step the Hawesko Group has been successful in extending its product range with the wines of an additional top winemaker. In doing so, the Group also substantiates its long-term strategy of continually building up its product range in the premium segment.

 

Brancaia, which is run by the Swiss couple Barbara and Martin Kronenberg-Widmer, has developed over the past 25 years into an exemplary winemaker in Toscana. Numerous national and international acclaims underscore year and again the excellent quality of its wines. Its top wine Brancaia "Il Blu" is rated year after year with three glasses from "Gambero Rosso", has been awarded already 96 points in the "Wine Spectator" and is among the 10 best wines of the year 2006 in the Top 100 list. The wine "Ilatraia" from Maremma is another premiere wine which has also been awarded 96 points from the "Wine Spectator".
