Hawesko: Hanseatisches Wein- und Sekt-Kontor and Miles & More agree on marketing and distribution cooperation
(May 18, 2010) Hamburg, 18 May 2010. Hawesko Holding AG (HAW GR, HAWG.DE, DE0006042708) announces that its mail order subsidiary Hanseatisches Wein- und Sekt-Kontor has reached a contractual agreement with Miles & More, the frequent flyer programme of Deutsche Lufthansa AG, to set up a marketing and distribution cooperation. The partnership begins on 1 September 2010 and comprises the entire spectrum of wines offered by the Hanseatisches Wein- und Sekt-Kontor. As a result of the cooperation, members of the Miles & More programme will be able to collect and redeem premium miles on future orders of wine.
The Miles & More programme of Lufthansa German Airlines has over 18 million members worldwide and more than 6 million in Germany. It is considered the most successful customer loyalty programme in the high-end consumer market in Europe. The attractive target group of frequent flyers distinguishes itself in its high affinity for fine wines and other exclusive products.
Hawesko Holding AG is a leading seller of premium wines and champagnes in Germany. In fiscal year 2009 the Group achieved sales of € 339 million through its three sales channels - specialist wine retail (Jacques' Wein-Depot), wholesale (Wein Wolf and CWD Champagner und Wein Distributionsgesellschaft) and mail order (in particular Hanseatisches Wein- und Sekt-Kontor), and employed 657 people. The shares of Hawesko Holding AG are listed on the Hanseatic Stock Exchange in Hamburg as well as in the Prime Standard segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
