Power development in Sauda
28.04.2005: The board of directors of Orkla ASA approved on 27 April Elkem's decision to implement the hydropower development at AS Saudefaldene.
Costed at NOK 1 640 million, this project involves upgrading older generating plant - partly in order to meet official demands for phasing out forge-welded pipes. Development work involves establishing roughly 500 GWh in new generating capacity. Construction is due to start in May 2005, with completion scheduled during 2008. Enclosed pdf file
