Precise Biometrics AB - Pressemeldinger

Smart cards have become the industry standard for storing electronic IDs to help identify users across open networks such as the Internet. Not only are smart cards extremely user-friendly, they offer maximum security.

"The Internet remains a relatively anonymous environment, and ensuring someone's identity before a transaction takes place has become a key factor in the growth of many e-commerce applications. A combination of PKI and smart card technologies is widely accepted as the most secure method of achieving online verification. By adding fingerprint recognition to the user's smart card, security will be increased even further," says Rain Eriksoo, Marketing Director of iD2 Technologies.

Precise Biometrics is at the forefront of the integration of biometrics technology with smart card solutions. The company's unique fingerprint-based verification system is the only product on the market today that fully integrates a smart card reader with a secure silicon fingerprint sensor within the same device.

"It is our goal to replace all present security systems with advanced user-friendly biometrics systems, which offer enhanced security. Our solutions enable customers to cut their costs through reduced password and PIN administration. For organizations that issue a large amount of smart cards this is a task that requires considerable resources and investments," says Peter Hojerback, CEO of Precise Biometrics.

Precise Biometrics AB will be one of the Swedish companies exhibiting at Comdex Fall 99 in Las Vegas in USA, the second largest IT exhibition in the world
