Einar Thodal-Ness new head of SEB Region South

Einar Thodal-Ness has been appointed as the new head of Region South at SEB. The region, which serves private clients and small and medium-sized businesses in southern Sweden, consists of 50 branch offices in the provinces of Skåne, Halland, Småland and Blekinge.

Thodal-Ness, 49, has vast experience within the areas of securities services, treasury and SEB's overseas business. Excluding a three-year period in the late 1980s, he has been employed at SEB since 1978. Thodal-Ness has most recently been head of SEB Merchant Banking in New York - a position he has held since November 2000. Prior to that, he was heading SEB Securities Services 1994-2000. Thodal-Ness was also head of SEB in Tokyo in the early 1990s.

Thodal-Ness replaces John Abrahamson, who was appointed CEO of Enskilda Securities earlier this spring. He will take up his new position after the summer. The work of recruiting a new head of Merchant Banking in New York is underway. Thodal-Ness will continue as manager until a successor has been appointed.
