S.T.DUPONT PRESS RELEASE
The Faverges plant has been partly destroyed by a fire that broke out in the night of january, 5th, 2008.
Nobody was hurt and the first investigations show that there is no risk of pollution.
The quick and massive intervention by the fire department contained the damages to the plating and polishing departments that are almost 100% destroyed.
This fire, of which the origin is still unknown, will have an impact on the plant capacity in term of lighters and writing instruments for the coming months.
Thanks to the insurance policy financial consequences (fixed assets, inventories, operational loss or civil liability) will be close to nil.
Analysis of the consequences of such a fire is under process and everything will be done in order to re-start the production at its nominal level as soon as possible.
