Tekla Oyj - Pressemeldinger
Tekla Corporation has closed its most extensive North American Tekla Xsteel deal with the ADF Group Inc. According to the agreement, Tekla will supply ADF with Tekla Xsteel software licenses as well as related services that include training and support in the initial phase of implementation. As the global market leader in structural steel engineering software, Tekla specializes in model-based technology to offer unrivaled 3D viewing and drawing solutions for fabricators and detailers.

The recent ADF partnership serves as a milestone for Tekla as it continues to expand its market share into North America. - ADF's application of Tekla Xsteel is a brilliant example of how the software can facilitate unprecedented collaboration throughout the entire process from design and fabrication to construction, said Risto Räty, Executive Vice President of Tekla Corporation, responsible for Building & Construction business area. - ADF is our first North American engineering works customer to implement Tekla Xsteel on this scale, and we anticipate a successful and long-term collaboration.

As one of the largest structural steel companies in North America, ADF specializes in the design, engineering, fabrication and installation of massive steel structures. The company maintains highly advanced production control processes and chose Tekla Xsteel because of its ability to complement and enhance production. Tekla and its Canadian Reseller, Dowco Consultants Ltd., collaborated closely with ADF to match its business requirements with solutions that streamline their specific operations.

- ADF required a system that could be integrated into its core business applications. Tekla Xsteel fills this requirement by becoming the central system that provides instant, live-data feedback whenever it is needed, said Chris Moor, Tekla's North American Sales Manager. - It was also chosen for efficient collaboration. When applied, every member of the project team, from sales and marketing, through detailing, project management, production management and erection will have access to an intelligent 3D model on any project.

Tekla plans to work closely with ADF during the implementation and maintenance phases of Tekla Xsteel. As the program's 3D model becomes part of the production control and communication process, all parties will be able to view it at all times. Eventually, Tekla Xsteel will serve as the core support for its management of information, material and people.

Carolyn Hanson, Vice President of ADF's Engineering Department, said: - We are confident about the strategic, long-term cooperation with Tekla. Xsteel offers a solid foundation for further development of the operations of the entire company. This software, which is being developed jointly with our professionals based on our specific needs, will provide greater optimization of the phases of any given project by having better control over the entire process.
