The Scottish Salmon Company PLC Announce New Chief Executive Officer

The Scottish Salmon Company are pleased to announce that Dr Stewart McLelland will be taking over as CEO of the company in January 2012, succeeding current Chief Executive Bill Hazeldean.

Mr Hazeldean is leaving to concentrate on his interests with Associated Seafoods Ltd. The company are extremely thankful to Bill for his leadership over the past 12 months.

This promotion for Stewart, from the role of Chief Operating Officer, will provide the Company with continuity to develop the plans for strategic growth and fulfil our long term strategy to increase and balance out our total production volume to around 40,000 tonnes per annum by 2015/2016.

The Company aims to achieve this through a mixture of organic growth in current farming facilities, and the new development of virgin sites. In addition to farming capacity increases, the Company will need to make significant investments through its value chain infrastructure, including freshwater and processing.
