The Scottish Salmon Company PLC provides Investor Update

The Scottish Salmon Company PLC (SSC) is hosting an investor presentation today, Tuesday 23 May 2017.

Following the reporting of its successful Q1 results earlier this month, SSC will update investors on the Company's operational and financial development as it progresses its long-term strategy for sustainable business growth.  In addition, the Company will share its outlook for the coming months with the international salmon market continuing to benefit from growing global demand and high prices.

The presentation will focus on the following:

With operations on the West Coast of Scotland and the Hebrides, The Scottish Salmon Company has leveraged the value of its provenance to build a robust export business focussing on the promotion of premium products, such as its Label Rouge range, to global markets. The development of its Native Hebridean Salmon is fundamental to this provenance strategy and gives the Company a unique competitive advantage in the international marketplace.

Investment in innovation, operational improvements and site development underpin the Company's growth strategy. Advancements in infrastructure and animal husbandry complement a proactive pipeline of site development to increase capacity and flexibility and maximise operational efficiencies.

An integral part of SSC's sales and marketing strategy has been introducing cut products to drive added value.  The development of a range fresh and frozen portions and fillet packaging options has driven growth over the last three years and is being expanded in 2017 to offer additional sales opportunities.

Craig Anderson, Chief Executive Officer at The Scottish Salmon Company, said:

"Following a robust start to the year in which we reported the highest quarterly EBIT/kg in the Company's history, we are taking a further opportunity to update investors on the progress of our long-term strategy for growth.

"With the global salmon market remaining strong, we have in place a programme of investment and innovation that will enable us to further capitalise on the growing demand for quality Scottish salmon."
