THIN - INKTEC and Thin Film Electronics sign Agreement to enable Volume production of printed memories at InkTec's factory in Pyungtaek-city, Korea

InkTec Co.,Ltd. ("InkTec") headquartered in Kyungki-do, Korea, a world-class research and manufacturing company in the field of Printed Electronics, and Thin Film Electronics ASA ("Thinfilm") of Oslo, Norway, announces today that they have extended and broaden their Joint Development Agreement ("JDA") signed in November 2007. In the agreement, InkTec has also been granted an option to acquire production and commercialisation rights from Thinfilm under a Patent & Know How License Agreement.

The extended joint collaboration is focused on developing reliable print manufacturing processes for high volume production of Thinfilm's memory technology. The work will be performed at InkTec's 2nd factory in Pyungtaek-city, Korea. The state of art factory, specifically designed and built for manufacturing of printed electronics products, was opened in 2007 and has currently three fully automated production lines.

Johan Carlsson, CEO of Thin Film Electronics stated: "We are very pleased with the collaboration and results already achieved together with InkTec under our initial JDA. InkTec's silver inks have proven to be very suitable as memory cell electrodes. It's therefore encouraging that we now can expand our collaboration in setting up InkTec as our first manufacturing partner in ASIA. InkTec's new factory is ideally suited for volume production of our technology and their market presence in more than 100 countries will help in commercialising our technology."

"Thinfilm's unique memory technology has already given us a new market segment for our innovative ink products. Our new extended agreement with Thinfilm, will contribute to the continued growth of our company by adding yet another application to our successful Print Services business. Our intent is to be able to offer fully printed Thinfilm memories to our own, as well as Thinfilm's customers, already this year. In the future, we see Thinfilm's memory technology as an important and integral part of printed Radio Frequency Identification ("RFID") products" commented InkTec's CEO, Kwang-Choon Chung.

Printed Electronics
Printed Electronics is a new, emerging industry that takes advantage of printing technologies to manufacture electronics with a wider variety of form factors, including thin, flexible substrates.  Through the use of proprietary printing techniques, these electronic circuits can be manufactured at high efficiency and very high volumes when compared to traditional electronics.  This enables electronic functionality in a whole new family of products such as medical and consumer disposables, cards, labels, RFID tags, toys and games.

Electronic Ink
'Electronic Ink' is for industry based on printing process and applicable to various electronic parts such as RFID, PCB and display etc. The ink is classified as Metal Ink, Ceramic Ink and Molecular Ink. Among them, metal ink is generally used in electronics industry. InkTec ink exactly has properties of metal ink and its technology is much advanced and also improved defects of nano ink and paste ink. Differently from other prior electronic inks based on nano-technology, InkTec ink is purely transparent nano-silver ink which is not formulated by particle structure. The transparent ink is stable even in long-term storage and applicable to various substrates because it enables ink sintering in low temperature for conductive trace.

InkTec Corporation
InkTec is listed on the Korea Stock Exchange (http://eng.krx.co.kr/index.html Ticker: InkTec [ 049550 ]) and since its establishment in 1992, InkTec has enjoyed exceptional growth with international sales and distribution network in more than 120 countries. As a world-class leading ink manufacturer, InkTec proudly developed innovative transparent silver conductive inks for printed electronics and started to produce various optical/electronic materials by state-of-the-art printing facilities. InkTec offers customized printing services for customers' products using superior facilities and extensive printing experience. All printed products can be produced using InkTec's innovative conductive inks.
