Yara JV with temporary ammonia production stop in BillinghamOslo (2008-12-08): Yara International ASA's joint venture, GrowHow UK Ltd, has temporarily stopped ammonia production in Billingham, UK. The plant has an annual capacity of 550,000 tons ammonia. The decision to stop production temporarily is related to the current situation in international ammonia markets with lower activity and price levels, as well as lower industrial ammonia demand in UK.
The ammonia plant will startup when market conditions warrant resuming production.
GrowHow UK Ltd. is a joint venture owned 50/50 by Yara International ASA and Terra Nitrogen Inc.
