BVI_Andes_ENBureau Veritas completes the acquisition of Andes Control, reinforcing its leading position in food analysis in Chile
Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, April 29, 2014 - Bureau Veritas has just completed the acquisition of the Chilean company Andes Control S.A., specializing in chemical analytical and testing services related to food and environmental safety.
Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Santiago, Andes Control provides a broad range of services to producers and exporters of food products. The company has over 50 employees and operates in Chile, Peru and Ecuador. It reported revenues of EUR 3.5 million in 2013.
This acquisition complements the business portfolio of Bureau Veritas in the food market, specifically in the detection of pesticide residues.
Didier Michaud-Daniel, Bureau Veritas' Chief Executive Officer, said:
"The food industry is increasingly using our services worldwide amidst growing regulatory requirements. This new targeted acquisition consolidates Bureau Veritas' leading position in the food testing market in Chile. It will also help us strengthen our presence in this segment in Latin America, where we are deploying our expansion strategy in testing, inspection and certification."
Bureau Veritas' workforce in Latin America now reaches approximately 13,000.
