Morten Vike new CEO of Grieg Seafood

Morten Vike will replace Per Grieg jr. as the CEO of Grieg Seafood. He comes from the position as Executive Vice President of Rieber & Søn ASA, responsible for the company's food divisions in Central and Eastern Europe. He will enter the position as CEO no later than 1 august 2008.

Vike brings industrial experience from the food business, international competence and unique brand building experience.

"This will be very important in an industry which traditionally has had a strong production focus, but which now becomes market oriented to a much larger extent. Vike will supply Grieg Seafood with a new dimension, both organizationally and strategically", Per Grieg jr., current CEO of Grieg Seafood ASA says.

Morten Vike has throughout his career held various positions in Rieber & Søn, one of Norway's leading food conglomerates. He has the last seven years been a member of the group management and currently holds the position as Executive Vice President, responsible for the company's food divisions in Central and Eastern Europe, which has comprehensive production, sales and marketing activities in four countries. Vike has in total lived and worked five years abroad, as the leader of Riebers operation in the region, among other things, Vitana, the largest food company in the Czech Republic, where he carried out a restructuring processes, acquisitions, integration as well as leading the company in markets with strong development and change.

Morten Vike is 36 years old and holds a Master of Science in Business and a Master of Science in International Management from NHH (Bergen) and Hochschule St.Gallen. He will enter the position as CEO no later than 1 august 2008.

Per Grieg jr. has been the CEO of Grieg Seafood the last ten years. He has taken the company from being a minor investment company to one of the world's six largest fish farming companies through 25 acquisitions and mergers. He will still follow the company closely and will be responsible for the Grieg Group's stake of 42 percent in the company.
